The Lion King Tickets
The Lyceum Theatre, London
Over 70 million people globally have seen this original and groundbreaking production and now it is your opportunity. Against the backdrop of the Serengeti Plains, the rhythms of African music and wonderful effects, The Lion King follows the story of Simba the lion prince and his ascent to the throne of King of the Pridelands.
Simba, the offspring of King Mufusa is informed that one day he will reign as King of the Pridelands. However, Mufusa underestimates the cunning of his brother, Scar, who was second in line until Simba was born and who also has designs on the throne.
Scar creates a stampede among the animals and causes the death of King Mufusa who he falls to his death. Simba survives and is wrongly informed by Scar that the stampede was his fault and the rest of the pride will never accept him as King once they find out.
Simba leaves the pride in self-imposed exile and vows never to return home. His only friends are Timon the meerkat and Pumbaa the Warthog and he stays with them as he grows into an adult lion.
One day he is discovered by his old boyhood friend Nala who cannot believe Simba is still alive. Nala begs him to return, stating the land has been laid waste by Scar's mismanagement. Simba eventually returns and fights Scar for his kingdom. He wins and takes his rightful place of King and restoring balance to the 'circle of life.
